Mental Health for Faithful Catholics
Providing a way toward ultimate purpose, healing, & hope.
Ever Ancient, Ever New
A Profoundly Simple Way for a Restless Age
Healing the Catholic Heart.
Quomnia integrates timeless spiritual wisdom with sound psychology to offer a simple way forward.
Quomnia, taken from Ex Quo Omnia (From Whom Are All Things), is a blend of ancient spiritual wisdom and contemporary psychological insights. Neither a mental health service nor spiritual direction; this is a way to bridge the two. Walking in the footsteps of the spiritual greats, like St. John of the Cross, Theresa of Avila, and Ignatius, formed by the minds of Aquinas, Augustine, and John Paul II, and grounded in reliable, modern science,
Quomnia offers a path through the darkness towards wholeness and light.
The Four Movements of
EXAMINE
The Source
This initial movement involves turning inward to understand the self, outward to perceive reality, and upward to acknowledge the ultimate Source of truth and being.
“Faults cannot be cured unless their roots and causes have been discovered”
First, understand your struggles and their true source.
DISCERN
The Situation
The prudent exercise of practical reason and the will to make right judgments about moral good and evil and God's will in specific circumstances.
“Let us not then examine simply the acts, but the season too, and the causes, and the mind, and the difference of persons, and whatsoever else may accompany them, these let us search out with all exactness: for there is no arriving at the truth otherwise.”
Call to mind your options, the consequences of choices, what you can and cannot control, and choose the best you are able at the time.
FORGE
Through Struggles
An active and intentional effort to shape one's inner being and outer life, requiring cooperation with God's grace to bring about transformation and healing.
“Stand firm, as does an anvil which is beaten. It is the part of a noble athlete to be wounded, and yet to conquer. And especially, we ought to bear all things for the sake of God, that He also may bear with us.”
Dare to face your struggles, your fears, your suffering, in faith and in community, move through them towards Hope.
ABIDE
In Grace
Maintaining a fixed and unshakable orientation of the soul towards God's love and will, through which one finds enduring peace and fulfills their ultimate purpose, steadfastly navigating life's changes without being separated from Him.
(Endure / Flourish)
“Neither tribulation nor distress, neither death nor life, neither present suffering nor fear of ills to come; neither the deceits of evil spirits nor the heights of satisfaction, nor the depths of sorrow; neither tenderness nor desolation, shall be able to separate us from that Holy Love, whose foundation is in Christ Jesus.”
Whether Enduring hardships or Flourishing in abundance, hold your heart inclined toward the Supreme Source (Ex Quo Omnia).

“The Integrated Heart: A Framework for Wholeness”
by Quomnia Founder, Johnathan Sumpter.
The Quomnia Way has four movements for everyday struggles. It is good to know how to move, but it may be more important to know where we are and where we are moving to. The Integrated Heart: A Framework for Wholeness provides us a framework to better understand ourselves, our struggles, and where we’re headed.
